Her Journey

Ymilse’s work is rooted in emotion, intuition, and movement. Each canvas emerges from an inner dialogue between silence and intensity, structure and freedom.

Her paintings do not seek to explain; they invite. Colour becomes language. Gesture becomes memory. The viewer is asked not to observe, but to feel.

Inspired by nature, human experience, and spiritual depth, Ymilse paints moments that exist between worlds where emotion takes form and colour holds meaning.

Surrendering to the Unseen

Ymilse's art work is characterized by intense colours and floating floral worlds: harmonious, luminous fields of flowers dancing within a universe of light and space.

My work remains a mystery to me''

“When I begin to paint I surrender to imagination and allow it to dictate the composition. I often write intimate prose or poetry directly onto the surface, revealing my most personal feelings. I use a wide range of materials: charcoal, gesso, acrylics, oils and mixed media. Beginning with a fluid, liquified method of application, I gradually give form to what emerges as a magical natural world. Sandpaper, brushes, spatulas, and even my fingers become tools in this unfolding process''
